DSIP in Laboratory Research
DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a nine-residue peptide originally recovered from mammalian brain tissue during work on sleep-associated factors. It remains one of the few peptides studied specifically in relation to sleep architecture.
In controlled laboratory environments it is used as a defined probe in sleep, stress and circadian research.
Research Applications & Study Focus
Research applications include slow-wave EEG pattern analysis, stress-hormone modulation, and nociceptive signalling. It also appears in circadian and HPA-axis models where corticotropin regulation is the variable under examination.
